I sent email saying Final Cut Studio 2 doesn't give you a preference
to identify separate audio and video sources when capturing - so
which Pro app(s) are you talking about other than QTPro 7.1 ?

I also said the QTPro 7.1 (a 29 dollar app) used to support this ..
I trust Apple is working on a fix and I will use it when it is
delivered... I've said this a number of times.

In the meantime, I've suggested (as others have .. and have since
iMovie 6 or earlier) ..
that we see support for this in iMovie since the technology appears
to already be in the system

we can do it with iChat/iSight .. a very consumer level app that
ships free with all Macs --
and I can even do it with iMovie if I use the internal iSight camera
on my MBPro ..
in other words, it appears the technology is there ..

we also know QT Pro used to support this

I'm amazed at how much resistance I'm getting for making a request
that appears to be reasonable given the technology is already in
place... and has been ..

And I explained how my workaround was to record shitty audio into a
camcorder and then try to sweeten the audio in Logic Pro and export
that audio to a movie ..

but that PRO app, Logic Pro, has a bug when exporting audio to video
-- the bug has been reported in the forums, from what I gather, since
at least January 07 -- and as recent as June 28, 07.

so telling me to use Pro apps doesn't cut it:

QTPro doesn't do it
Final Cut Pro doesn't do it
Logic Pro doesn't export audio to movie

oddly, the iApps do do it:
iChat
iMovie, if you use the built-in iSight camera

Okay --
I've had enough of this topic on the talk list (and I'm sure others
have as well)
