audio effects in new iMovie '08 - what's to become of Logic Pro ? what about a truly integrated media authoring environment?

followup:

Regarding Final Cut Studio 2:  my BIL confirmed there is no apparent  
way to define independent audio and video sources when capturing with  
FC Studio 2 - at least he can't seem to find a preference or option  
to do so.

As a reminder, QTPro 7.1 used to allow this.  Seems reasonable that  
we should have this ability in iMovie and in Final Cut Studio.
