Personal Domain support in Dot Mac

I discovered why setting up the Personal Domain feature in Dot Mac  
wasn't working:  my ISP's interface for setting the canonical name  
(CNAME) alias "www" to web.mac.com was reverting to the hosting  
service's IP.  Setting the CNAME to "web.mac.com" returned "invalid  
address".

I'm checking with Apple to see if I can use an IP address for  
web.mac.com (wondering how often, if ever, it changes).
