Thank you, I did not realize it was Launch Services that did this. I tried
searching under a lot of things, but not this.

Yes, I can set that as a default, but i was hoping for a file someplace that
said something like:
.txt - TextMate, BBEdit,
.html - Firefox, Safari
etc, etc ad have only those applications show in the "Open With" menu and
not any other applications, even thought they might think they could open
the file. Does that make sense? Say for .txt I also have TextWrangler
installed, but not in the list above, TextWrangler should not show up in the
"Open With" list because I have not specified it.
Is there some way i can say only offer application possibilities from
> /Applications and no place else (say the app resides in one of my

Maybe this whole concept is a great new piece of software I could work on. I
have some free time at this point.....Both points that i made above could be
in this application...
