just having a firewire blueray player wouldn't make it able to play  
blueray movies.

I doubt we'll see Blueray players in consumer Macs until a format  
becomes dominant.  and I don't see that happening (I think I've ranted  
here about the fact that the same movies are 2-3x the cost on blueray)
