Third party iPhone apps

I'm a little confused, what are you surprised about here?

That there will be third-party apps solicited and approved by Apple?   
I think that has been pretty clear from the start  By not being open  
to third-party development, I think, most people understood that this  
only meant there wasn't going to be a public SDK.

Or that Apple would approve a tacky dating application?  I am a  
little surprised by this, but perhaps its their move into social  
networking applications, social networking the Apple way, not some  
business-focussed resume building LinkedIn.
