No it's not. There's a huge difference between someone who puts
fidelity above all other things and someone who puts MUSIC above all
other things. I met someone in college who was a major league
audiophile. He used to buy multiple copies of the same recording
(CD, Vinyl, Cassette, DAT) whenever possible so that he could 'prove'
to people how vinyl was superior to digital (yeah, one of those).

Not disinterested, just not obsessed. The Music lover cares about
the music first and fidelity is simply an added bonus.

Probably, but there is a much large population, so far, in the
audiophile camp than the 'photophile' camp.
