Also (and I'm not being derisive here).  How old are you?  I theorize  
that those who are younger, who spend all their time at their  
computer, or feel that having a computer to watch TV on is the way to  
go, are much more accepting of lower quality encoding.

I see this in many of the younger (20's) people I correspond with on  
this topic.
