personally, i don't care that much; i don't restart very often 
(though Rosetta seems to gobble VM in a way that makes me restart 
twice a week or so)

and regarding Apple TV, isn't it something you leave on, like 
TiVo? i restart my TiVos twice a year or so (when they hang); 
takes several minutes, but doesn't bother me
