What that generally means is that the program has an execution fault  
and dies before it finishes its QUIT process.

You will usually get that bug report window thing that you can send  
to Apple -- this includes a stack trace of all the threads.  You can  
look at that to get an idea of what is happening sometimes if you are  
interested :-)

File bug reports with the SW vendors.
