Yes, I agree that would be nice.

I've suggested this and a multi-month and year view (the calendar in  
the sidebar is mostly for jumping around dates) to Apple in the past  
- I don't think anything is planned for Leopard (although apparently  
there have been quite a few changes to the iCal interface in the last  
revision).
