installing on external drive, source for replacement drives

Hey all-

Two questions:

I have a server in the US with an internal drive that has just died.  
Data is backed up here in Spain. My plan is to purchase an external  
Firewire drive here, install the system and the data and ship it to  
the US to be attached to the server.

If I install Panther Server on an external disk using my Powerbook G4  
as the host here, will that install boot an older dual 500MHz G4?

I only recently moved to Spain. In the US, if I needed a drive, I had  
dozens of online vendors available. I've looked at amazon.co.uk (not  
that they would be my first choice), but they won't ship things like  
hard drives to Spain (or camcorder batteries, or memory, or anything  
with a warranty).

Does anyone have experience buying online in Spain?
