  Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

  I have stated in various places that I think that the user doesn't,  
and moreover shouldn't *have to* know what they want. I want to write  
software that stays out of the way, that can be used easily, without  
having to first acquire lots of knowledge about the way the program  
works.

  I've certainly been in the situation myself where I didn't know  
whether an application would run on a particular Mac, and I find it  
much more convenient to just click the thing and have it tell me,  
than having to dig out a paper manual and search it, or having to  
find the correct page on the vendor's huge web site.

  If you still think I should stop working for customers, I guess we  
have to agree to disagree. Or you could read Steve Krug's book "Don't  
make me think!", which explains the school of thought behind this at  
length.
