  This sounds like you never ran into the two differing 10.4.10  
builds. Apple shoved out a second release due to that sound issue  
with the former. They also provided an upgrade to turn the broken  
build into the fixed version. But the broken-then-fixed build has a  
different build number (and some different bugs) than the fixed-from- 
the-start second revision.

  The least of our troubles was that, since the build numbers  
differed, Xcode wouldn't let us distribute builds between these two  
versions ...
