One of my apps functions incompletely under Panther, and the other doesn't
function at all under Panther. I don't think it would be smart to frustrate
my customers by forcing them to waste their time finding that out for
themselves. By testing for Tiger, I am able to tell the user nicely at the
outset that the product isn't designed for Panther.

The user may know what he wants, but I know best what my products actually
do. As the developer of the products, I feel an obligation to inform the
user what they do and what they don't do.
