I don't have a mini or MacBook to test on, but I'd guess that Apple's
VideoHardwareDemo app at
<http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/VideoHardwareInfo/> would
demonstrate how to find that.  Among other things it looks up the
amount of video RAM-- maybe that'd be zero on those Macs?
