Sending Mail to AD Exchange Enabled Groups

I have a client who is using Exchange and AD as their backend. They  
want to be able to send email to Exchange enabled groups from their  
Macs, but cannot. Has anyone else run into this?

Also, any suggestions for best/most compatible/least irritating client  
for use with Exchange? Apple Mail's support isn't all that great (they  
are running into problems with email not updating). Is Entourage the  
way to go?
