Linux on intel xserve

     I've seen that post before.  I'm not necessarily married to Ubuntu. 
  Any Linux that would install on the intel xserve would be fine with me.

     The intended purpose is a very low utilization file server.  I've 
been using various linux distros for servers for about 10 years.  I 
thought I might like os x but I really don't and just want to get rid of 
it.  However, since the hardware is already here I hate to see it go to 
waste.
     There is enough pc hardware setting around to do the job but there 
are several xserve raid boxes involved and I haven't yet explored 
whether or not I can use the fiber channel cards from the xserve boxes 
in pc servers.
