I know I cannot run OS X (but I can run FreeBSD and Solaris 10), but
I build all my own servers so that this does not happen. I can have
a spare power supply on hand, extra MB or CPU or RAM or disks or
whatever, and generally do it much less expensively than a "name
brand" server. My box is not as sexy looking but otherwise my
servers can do all what the "name brand" ones do and they have much
faster support (me) and I can go to several different local stores
and buy parts in an emergency since it is all off the shelf stuff, or
any internet dealer, and I also keep spares on the shelf here.
