	Note that just because you are using the same protocol does not mean  
that your client supports all of the best settings for the server.  
Apple's Remote DEsktop client, and by extension the Screen Sharing  
system, supports all of the tricks that Apples VNC server supports. So  
even without any server improvements you might get noticeable  
improvements just by switching to Apple's code.
