They are both really really really good and whichever you chose you  
will likely be very happy with.  Some people are vehement about one  
over the other but I think that's a 'less filling' 'tastes great'  
argument.

I've played with both, albeit briefly, and they were both so good I  
was quite shocked.

I think if I wear purchasing I might lean a bit toward VMware but that  
is likely colored by the fact I know someone who's working there now.   
I do like that its integrated mode feels a little cleaner to me, but  
really, it's a narrow distinction.

I believe both products offer demo versions, so try them out.

They are also both updated frequently, and new features and new fixes  
are out at a rapid pace, so don't put much stock in any issues posted  
on the Internet about either product that are more than a couple of  
weeks old.
