ServerAdmin Tool no longer accessible

I seem to have this problem almost every time I use Update from  
within Server Admin.  My workaround is to use the terminal connection  
to reboot the server, which always fixes the problem (although it is  
always a stressful moment waiting for it to come back up!).  I assume  
that somehow the reboot after an Update does not work correctly for  
some strange reason.
