Display colorsync profile remains unapplied?

I would say "yes" to this given the following: I have display 1 and  
display 2. Display 2's cable used to be connected to Display 1's DVI  
port and Display 1 used to display quite brightly - this was before  
Display 2 existed. Now Display 2 is bright and Display 1 is not.  
Display 2 has the new bulb and the bulb for Display 1 is about 2  
months old now.

I have just rebooted the machine but can't see whether that made a  
difference. As I said before, the machine is remote. I'll have to get  
someone to eyeball the displays today and report back.
