[SOLVED] InkChecker could not get ppd

Thanks for the suggestions Daniel! unfortunately it did not work for  
my situation.

For the archives the problem in my case was that some sort of disk  
glitch? caused the system link /var --> private/var to poof so as  
some apps reference /var they failed while the app's that reference / 
private/var worked. I was able to recreate the link and reboot and  
all works like it used to. Everybody else prolly checks that there / 
var link exists daily, but Im not much of a sys admin, just a  
stuckee. Thanks to everyone for all your helpful suggestions they led  
me in the right direction.
