InkChecker could not get ppd

I don't know if it will fix the specific problem you have, but one of  
the times I have had this happen (it has happened a few times to  
random computers) I was able to resolve it by resetting the printing  
subsystem (hold down option I think while starting printer setup  
utility) and then before adding any printers, delete /Library/ 
Printers (all the print drivers).  Then re-install the print drivers  
you need from the DVD.  One time this fixed the problem, the other 2  
times it did not.
