	The whispers I have heard (from people at Apple rather than the  
usual voices in my head) have been a bit schizophrenic. On one hand  
it seems that the Mac mini has never come even close to its sales  
goals, but on the other hand there is a feeling that a lot of people  
walk into an Apple Store on that price and then wind up buying an  
iMac (or better). And it is a great number to throw out there when  
people talk about how "expensive Macs are".

	The Mac mini's current incarnation is more than a bit long in the  
tooth, so I hope that Apple will either discontinue it, or bring out  
a new version. Maybe if the rumors that the 17" iMac is not going to  
be refreshed is true Apple will come out with a mini+monitor bundle  
to replace it.
