Page mangled when printing via USB

Hi all,

We've got two Kyocera FS-1010 (simple b+w postscript lasers) in use.
One is connected via the parallel interface to a FreeBSD box, which
acts as a simple lpd print server. When printing a PDF on this
printer from OS X 10.4 (via the lpd queue of the BSD box), the page
comes out as expected. The other FS-1010 is connected via USB to an
OS X box. Printing the same PDF here results in an output where the
margins have changed and some of the content is cut off, i.e. simply
not printed.

I vaguely remember having dealt with something similar in an early
version of OS X. There was some sort of filtering going on where the
original document got embedded in a wrapper. Does anybody know more
about this or even how to circumvent such problems and send the PDF
straight to the printer?

TIA

Fabian
