Target disk mode on RAID'd boot volume

It wasn't a startup volume, but I had xserves today with an 80gig boot drive
and 2 700gig drives in a mirrored raid in target disk mode today. The raid
showed as one drive. What if you choose target disk mode in System
Preferences->Startup Disk?
Thanks
