Restart automatically after a power failure , failed ;(

This morning we had a couple of transient power fails and my
(mac mini) home server failed to reboot even though it was
set to reboot on power failure in the Energy Saver Panel.

There were two failures about 30 seconds apart, then second
one lasted a couple of minutes.

Are there some glitches in the reboot mechanism?

It took me a couple of minutes to realize what the problem
was when I found I could not "surf" anymore ( the server
is also my nameserver :)
