Check the system and console logs.  You can use the Console app (in / 
Applications/Utilities) and look at each.

Typically, a crash will be recorded in the log files, and there will  
be a crash report in either /Library/Logs/Crashreporter or ~/Library/ 
Logs/Crashreporter.  The crash reports will be named either  
App.crash.log or something like com.company.app.crash.log.
