Xserve Cluster Node Server Wrong Purchase [solved]

Thanks to all who responded. This is a very helpful list!
In the end, I succeeded in using ssh to connect to the server and via
the serversetup command set, enter the software serial number that
shipped with the computer. The fourth block of the serial number was
a "zero". Yet, Apple's Server Assistant GUI interface will only allow
alpha - not numeric characters in the fourth position of the serial
number entry form. (odd)
