i've recently run into a situation in which "defaults read virtualDVHS.app 
'DefaultRecordingDirectory'", which returns a POSIX path, stopped appending a 
trailing slash...dunno if it's a intel vs ppc issue or just applescript waking 
up on the other side of the os;-}
