Routing over Airport?

Ok, I just tried making the wireless network *without* WEP and the
connection now works.
I read a little about ARP security holes with WEP. Is it possible
that Apple's WEP restricts ARP packets on the wireless network?
Could Macs get buy without it when using "Internet Sharing" (i.e. a
NAT)?
Of course, I don't want to run the wireless network without security
(no matter how bad WEP is ...). Does this help anyone with a solution.
At least, I know it (most likely) isn't something I am doing.
