Where does AppleFileServer store the shares?

Ah. I missed the bit where you weren't using OS X Server.

That's a property of the AppleFileServer process I believe, and I'm  
not sure whether the client version of OS X lets you disable that,  
but you could see if it comes about as a side-effect of setting  
"createHomeDir" to off, as I think that works under Server.

They're dynamic shares, so you won't find them in the NetInfo database.
