application launching failures

It has happened before, but the logs don't seem to show anything out  
of the ordinary other than a few messages like

I x'd out the IP and machine name, but otherwise these were from the  
logfile in the period of time that I had the behavior today...other  
than these, nothing seemed to stand out.
