by Molly Reed on January 31, 2007

This release includes general speed and stability improvements as well as printing and Microsoft Project import/export improvements.  AppleScript support is also improved in this release and we plan to continue working on this for the OmniPlan 1.1 final release.  For more detailed information on the fixes in this release, you can read our release notes.

Please keep in mind that this release is still under development. Your feedback will help us improve the software, and we apologize if it crashes, corrupts your files, or otherwise misbehaves. A more stable release is also available.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions or comments.  You can contact us directly via our support page  or by using the Send Feedback feature in your copy of OmniPlan.

Very nice. Looking forward to using this software.

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but now that you've released OmniPlan it occured to me that you guys are probably the perfect team to put together something I've been searching for for years: a Mac-centric payroll, timesheets and general accounting package.

I work for small/medium size architects firm in London UK and ever since we kitted the office out with Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server and all the hardware I've been searching for some decent Mac software for the above (we're still shoe-horning MS Excel sheets into the job). I've been hoping that Apple would build something into Mac OS X and Server but I think that's probably wishful thinking.

There's quite a bit of software out there but none of it manages to get the formula right. What we're after is:

- client/server timesheets system that can have times input either via a web browser (bit like http://www.clicktime.com/timesheet-demo1.asp) or with a simple app (most current apps are too complex or seem to be aimed at one-man-bands, with hourly rates included, or automatic timers, neither of which are that useful in a medium/large business)

- an app that you can use to create timesheet reports and add hourly charge out rates, etc., do the payroll and all other accounting stuff.

- ideally it would all be packaged in such a way as to be ready for any national market

- you could maybe start it all off as just a timesheets app?

Oh yeah, did I say please? :)
