OmniPlan 1.0 now available

by Linda Sharps on December 13, 2006

Download it here! And getcher license here!

Behold: OmniPlan 1.0 has shipped. And our Support Ninjas are READY.

Of course, now you're probably afraid to email them…because the monkey might get you.

As if that's not enough news for one morning, we have lowered OmniWeb's price to $14.95.

Also, don't forget our new quantity discounting system on the online store (buy two or more items and get 5% off your order, per additional item, up to a maximum of 30%)!

Also ALSO also, from today until the end of December, OmniPlan discounts are available to those of you who have purchased at least one other Omni product. For every product previously purchased (sorry, bundled software on Apple machines does not count), there will be an additional 5% off your OmniPlan purchase, up to 30%. Email us the license information from your software to get the discount.

Clearly, we've gone completely insane around here (especially the support staff). I recommend buying up some software before we come to our senses, or the monkey devours us all, whichever comes first.

If I didn't already own OmniWeb I would buy it again! :)

Now… about that GTD app..

Might want to fix this on the OmniWeb page: “and if you're new to OmniWeb, 5.0 comes with a reasonable $29.95 price tag.”

Does this mean you're going to release 6.0 soon and charge the people who bought 5.5 at full price right before the November giveaway even more money?

Richard—We do offer a 30 day money back guarantee as per our refund policy here to help with these situations. Our sales team is always happy to help when these issues come up.

Thank you Omni!

This looks nice. However, offering the rebate only to people who bought retail versions of the software at a physical store is disturbing. I've owned multiple versions of FastTrack and have yet to even see it in any local stores…

Jay: it's not limited to retail versions. We just need proof of purchase, so if you have an emailed receipt, or similar, that will work.

Yeah, “point of sale receipt” is a bit misleading. I'm trying to get that changed. :D

What about us poor slobs who run Microsloth Project using Virtual PC?  I'm going to guess that I'll be laughed off the web site if I ask for a “competitive” upgrade discount.  I'll promise to write LOTS of bug reports and enhancement requests!

Well,

I am very disappointed that the rebate for e.g. PMX is only valid for the US and Canada. Thanks the the poor Europeans have to pay more. Well, they will probably buy less.

Sorry, we're fixing the wording on the rebate form:  the rebate is available in all countries, not just the US and Canada.  (And yes, if you purchased the competing product online, you can use your email receipt as your point of sale receipt.)

OmniPlan comes to the project management party…

For the longest time finding a decent project management tool for OSX has been difficult, if not impossible depending on the features you require. Unfortunately even in the Windows world finding an alternative to the powerful but very expensive Micros…

I must be missing something—is there anything like a manual for OmniPlan?

There is a PDF manual available here: http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniplan/download/

However, all the information in that manual (and more) is also available from the Help menu within OmniPlan. And of course, if the documentation doesn't answer your question, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or check out our forums.

Forget the monitor boxes just close the doors and let that hideous wallpaper scare away your customers!

[...] You’ve seen the screenshots, and you’ve even seen it in beta. Now, and for the first time ever, OmniPlan - the project management app from the makers of OmniOutliner and OmniAnythingElse - has gone officially official. The ultra-hip ‘beta’ moniker has been put to rest in the back yard in favor of a final 1.0 app, complete a non-expiring demo (though limited to 20 items in a doc), a $149.95 price tag and a $60 ‘Competitive Upgrade Rebate’ for anyone switching from a valid copy of PMX, FastTrack Scheduler, Merlin, and ConceptDraw. Now there’s a way to make a splash. [...]

can OmniPlan connect to a Workgroup Manager on macosx server to get the information about the resources?

cesar

Cesar, that's not something we support in 1.0, but I'll write up a feature request on this so the engineers know it's something you'd like to see in a future release of OmniPlan. Thanks!

Hey Omni-Guys!

nice time in SF?

I want you to know, that you guys make the BEST software, as far as I am concerned.

Absolutely the best!

I love the Outliner, I love the Graffle and I love the Omni Plan. The PC-Guys here, they want to buy Macs just because of those three. Can you imagine that?

So, here my wish list (just a senior PM) for 2007 -  on OmniPlan:

1. Better iCal integration (now with iPhone coming), for example, OmniPlan checking iCal for the working Schedule and syncing back and forth

2. Messaging and Automation: Changes? Automatical mails to the recources, total integration with mail clients or even SMS.

Best regards from Germany!
