OmniOutliner 3.8 beta 1 released

by Derek on December 29, 2008

Happy Holidays! Hopefully all you north-westerners stayed safe during all the snow. Here's a little holiday gift for all the OmniOutliner users out there. OmniOutliner 3.8 beta 1 is now available which adds Quick Look preview functionality for attachments, the same as OmniFocus has. Now you can easily preview those multipage PDFs or text files like many of you have been wanting to do.

It also fixes an annoying bug which caused the vertical page break indicators to not always be accurate. However, this fix has one small downside, you will not always see the page break indicator once you snap to it. But, you should be able to safely trust that it's the correct width when you snap to it so you won't have alternating blank pages printing out.

We've also fixed one other bug recently discovered caused by pasting large amounts of text into the batch find field and made another small improvement to the HTML exporters. Full info is available in the release notes.

You'll find the download page in the usual place. And as always, please contact us if you have any trouble or have any questions by using the Help -> Send Feedback option in the app or at omnioutliner@omnigroup.com.

All I can say about you poor snow-covered Seattle-ites.

Wimps.

When I was a kid, we'd walk through 12 feet of snow.

Uphill.

Both ways.

In July.

And I haven't even gotten to the part where I would have to fight off grizzlies with my Mead loose-leaf notebook.

Actually, a fellow I used to work with used to work at Boeing.  He mentioned that if Seattle does get a good dusting of the white stuff, the town pretty much closes down.

As I said before.

Wimps.

But think of all this time you should have to stay indoors and work on OmniOutliner 5.8!  Or OmniWeb 6!  Or OmniDiskSweeper 2!

If Seattle's got snow, Spokane's formed it's own Glacier. They haven't got squat on us.

When are they coming out with an outliner for the iPhone? A good one, that backs up easily to Windows, is sorely missing.
