OmniGraffle 4.1.2 is out and about

by Joel on August 2, 2006

Well, the final release of OmniGraffle 4.1.2 has come and gone. I, much like Wim, feel that the 4.1 branch is now dead to me. This has been a very cautious release than ones past—From the initial 4.0 release to the rush of getting the universal binary version of 4.1 ready in time to patching up that release in 4.1.1, it was actually somewhat relaxing to take a slow approach this time.

Lots of little nit-picky issues and regressions that got introduced in the rush of 4.1 are now addressed and fixed, problems with inspectors corrected, Intel-specific problems cleaned up.

We hope you enjoy it.

A link to the download page would have been nice.

Ah right, there's one there now. Thanks for pointing out the omission.

Thanks for your work on OmniGraffle Joel.  I know you've put in a lot of hard work on the app as well as being prompt with e-mail responses.

Hello,

I am also very grateful for OmniGraffle and I greatly appreciate all the work and the many details making this app so nice to use.

Now, I am wondering if next improvements will occur in revisions or in major new versions (OG 5?) I am mainly thinking about Bezier curves (for lines, not only for shapes)

Is it just me, or is the “holding down shift to constrain dragging to horizontal or vertical only” a bit hit and miss?

Thanks, OmniGraffle keeps getting better and better…

I am the Omnigroup ambassador here at our office. Now I am just waiting for the GTD-app that has been hinted here and there. Currently I am using OmniOutliner and kGTD but a dedicated app (or a modified version) would be even better.

I saw this att the Kinkless forums. Any truth in it (come on, give us a hint ;-) )

Omni IS coming out with a gtd app with the help of Ethan and Merlan, so the days of kinkless are numbered. Hasn’t anyone noticed Ethan never appears here any more?

Kinkless is dead. Can’t wait for the new omni gtd app however.

Hi, our design team (about 10 people) uses Omnigraffle Profressional on a combination of G4 Powerbooks and MacBook Pros, and most, if not all of us seem to experience significant slowdown after using Omnigraffle Profressional for more than a few hours.  Does this update fix that, and if not, is this a known issue?

Anyway, thanks for the great software!

Also, is there a change log of the features that were fixed and/or updated in this release?

Thanks!

Yes, OG 4.1.2 was very boring to work on. But we have some good ideas for future versions, now, which have marinated in our brain-juices a little and may soon come to fruition. (Um, maybe I shouldn't have mixed those particular metaphors.)

Hi.  I use graffle for multiple page site maps. To do this i use the canvas size, but every time I close and reopen a file I all of my page spacing is screwed up and i have to realign everything. Any idea how to fix this?
