OmniFocus for iPhone 1.1.2 now available

It is true what many of you have heard: Our buddy, OmniFocus for iPhone, has an update. In this update, we corrected a few things including:

  • A bug in which a blank screen could appear after creating a new item

  • A bug in which OmniFocus could become unresponsive after converting an action to a project

  • A new Settings icon to avoid potential confusion with Apple's Settings application

  • Saved Zion from the machines

Okay, maybe we're still working on that last one, but you can find a full list of changes, or check out the application in iTunes, here. (This link opens in iTunes.)

    I think you meant 1.1.3?  My iTunes says 1.1.3.

    You're right 1.1.3 became available today, but it just happen to be approved on the heels of 1.1.2. :)

    Looks like the iTunes Store is overloaded with people updating to 2.2. It keeps timing out when I try to check for app updates. Will have to try again tomorrow.

    I just wanted to congratulate you on the iPhone version and on Mobile Me syncing.


    I gave up on OmniFocus earlier this year, but these two developments have made it a killer app. I use Mobile Me to keep my two Mac Pros (home and office) and iPhone 3G in sync. It works like a charm.


    Also, some words of encouragement for those who find the GTD method too time consuming. I now use OmniFocus as follows—instead of listing projects in the sidebar, I list major areas of my job (e.g., Sales).


    Within each of these areas, I list projects rather than tasks. Unlike a developer, my projects usually have the same steps every time so listing the steps is a waste of time. I just need a simple reminder that a project exists. (I guess these are single action lists).


    Finally, I use contexts to indicate the status of a project (e.g., create proposal, send invoice, collect payment). Well, theoretically. I still don't use Contexts often.


    Hey, this system works for me.

    read the recent reviews for omnifocus for iphone on istore website…they are mainly terribe, a slow buggy app, what is happening about this?

    I bought the iPhone app WAAAAAAY back when it was 1.0. The new version is snappier and the sync with mobile me is pretty quick!  I feel this product has matured into one of the best GTD solutions out there.

    mgetzski - As far as I know, we don't get any information from Apple that lets us identify who has bought the iPhone version of the application, but I'll make sure the suggestion makes it to the relevant folks.


    Lukw - I took a look at the App Store: when I sort by “Most Recent”, 21 of the first 25 reviews are 4 or 5 star reviews, with most of those being 5 star reviews.


    That said, I think we'll do the same thing with OmniFocus for iPhone that we do with all of our products - listen to the feedback that we get, add the features that customers say they want, and fix bugs as we find and can reproduce them.
