WWDC has come and past, and we're all back and situated back home, and have another beta release for you all.
On a rather important note, it turns out that the beta 3 release had a nasty Unique Graphic ID bug in it, as a matter of fact it wound up getting fixed on the couches or bean bag chairs of Moscone West last week (or in that general vicinity). So, if you were using OmniGraffle 5.0.1 beta 3 then I encourage you to get this release.
We've fixed a few other annoyances as well, you can read the release notes at the venerable OmniGraffle beta page.
Cheers!
Before all the engineers here pop off to San Francisco next week for WWDC, we've managed to get another beta release of OmniGraffle 5.0.1 out the door, in much the same manner as a well-known archaeologist grabbing his hat at the very last minute before impending doom.
Well, at least that's the way I like to think of it.
As for this release, there's not much to say other than “work continues” (which is a phrase commonly uttered during weekly status update meetings). We've fixed up a couple more crashes, shored up AppleScript support for the new features in 5.0, and fixed a few other bugs.
As usual, the disk images are available for download at our OmniGraffle beta page, and as always we've documented the changes at the historical release notes page.
Cheers, and we'll see you at WWDC if you're headed down there as well.
Patrick (who is the nice gentleman who created Graffletopia) has let me know that he's made a very thorough overhaul to the site.
For those of you who may not be aware of Graffletopia, it's this completely awesome site that has all sorts of stencils for OmniGraffle available for download. So, you should really check it out if you haven't, as stated above it's awesome.
Alongside a total redesign, the new version of Graffletopia (dare I call it 2.0?) sports the ability to save Favorites, ratings for stencils, see the most downloaded stencils, tags to augment the existing keywording feature, and an overall better browsing experience.
For you stencil authors out there, two very handy new features are in place, there's a Dashboard for managing those stencils you've created and listed at the site, and Graffletopia now offers hosting space, so you can have your stencils live there if you don't have webspace of your own.
Please head on over to Graffletopia and have a look-see for yourself.
Excelsior!
Another round of bug fixes, including a couple of ornery problems we had exporting to the Visio XML format.
(Really, if you had run into the one bug you may very well have questioned your sanity. I sure did upon seeing it.)
We're set for completion of all the localization issues for the next beta release, please bear with us as that's taking a bit more time than we'd prefer.
Release notes and the beta download page can be found by clicking on the aforementioned links.
Enjoy!
(Not to steal anyone's thunder concerning a certain sought-after feature in some other application but…)
OmniGraffle 5.0.1 beta 1 is now available for download and it includes a very long list of bug fixes and the like. Much too long to go into depth here, but we've caught and knocked down the immediate and pressing issues that cropped up since the initial release of OmniGraffle 5.0.
A quick look on the horizon for further beta releases reveals more work in polishing up foreign language localizations, but for now please do download and check out the latest release.
Historical release notes
OmniGraffle beta page
No changes since the release candidate a couple of weeks ago.
The sad part about this is that we currently have no dedicated page for version 4 of OmniGraffle, this is something that I hope we can address in a website redesign.
In the meantime, you can find OmniGraffle 4.2.3 and OmniGraffle Professional 4.2.3 at our software archive, and here are direct links:
OmniGraffle 4.2.3
OmniGraffle Professional 4.2.3
Enjoy!
Just a few more fixes that have popped up along the way, we've fixed a recursive NIB crash when running in Spanish as well as addressing another instance of the issue where the .graffle file extension would get appended on export.
The upshot to RC status is that once the final version of OmniGraffle 4.2.3 is out and about, is that version 5.0.1 can go into beta testing, it's currently busy waiting in the wings.
You can find the release candidate of OmniGraffle 4.2.3 at our beta page.
For those of you who are still running OmniGraffle 4, we have a beta release of version 4.2.3 up for downloading. It addresses the last of the Leopard compatibility problems we've encountered and has fixed a few bugs that have cropped up since the release of version 4.2.2.
Peruse the short list of release notes and download the beta at the newly-resurrected beta page.
For those of you who purchased OmniGraffle 4 or OmniGraffle Professional 4 from our online store on or after October 31, 2007; you should have received by now an email from us containing your new license key for OmniGraffle 5. If you haven't received it yet, please let us know.
For those of you who purchased OmniGraffle 4 or OmniGraffle Professional 4 from a retail outlet or online store that's not us, if you contact our sales team at sales@omnigroup.com and provide some form of proof-of-purchase, they can help you out with getting a free upgrade to OmniGraffle 5.
Well, after a lengthy beta testing period, OmniGraffle 5.0 and OmniGraffle Professional 5.0 are now released in final form, we'd like to thank all of the beta testers for their feedback, and I hope we didn't scare too many folks with the lack of a built-in license key in the release candidate.
