Musicians:
Lary "Larz" Nefzger
Formerly with Triad Studios, less formerly in Amsterdam working on setting up a sailing ship studio for billionaire Paul Allen (I am not making this up....), and more recently involved in a project for Aussie soap star chanteuse Natalie Imbruglia. Larz is a maniac.
Tom Hall
Also associated with Triad Studios, currently frequenting those parts as an independent consultant. An engineer needs to be a good translator and ambassador between art and circuitry, and I am frequently amazed at his gift in this regard. He's able to parse what I mean when I mumble something about wanting the background vocals, you know, more tinny and sharp but not squeezed so far back that you can't recognize them as human. This kind of yammering makes absolute perfect sense to him (and if not, he humors me convincingly).

Mark Yeend
.... another busy boy and percussionist extraordinaire, was part of the almost legendary Seattle band Ondine and currently with Little Buddy as well as doing massive studio session work, sitting in with surf rock band King of Hawaii, and doing various swing gigs around town. I don't know what I'd have done without Mark's help in letting go of my lame sequenced elements in favor of a reality check. He's also a really nice guy, despite whatever rock star image he may eventually succumb to.

Jami Sieber
.... a big sweetie and former member of Rumors of the Big Wave, who I am happy to say has finally joined the land of the living! Jami has embarked on her own journey with an impressive solo debut entitled Lush Mechanique, a beautiful electric cello project replete with interpretive dancers and a costume designer. Jami's cellos leap out of the CD and head straight for the jugular. Very heady stuff. Jami toured in 1996 with Canadian folksinger Ferron, who was the opening act for Jane Siberry and is very much in demand around these parts. Sadly for these parts, Jami has moved to the San Francisco Bay area and will be very strongly missed. We all wish her well in her new surroundings.

John Morton
.... what can this guitar guy not do? Hand him a chart, and the man has a plan. Before I can say the words "Mark Knopfler" he is off and grinning (he happens to favor Mark Knopfler when I loosen the eccentric chart reigns... just my luck).
Jonathan Burns
This very stylish young gent has come to my rescue on the electric bass, handling everything I've thrown at him so far with great vervor and very little gnashing of teeth. Bloody good job, ol' sport.
 Mary Lord
A member of the Early Music Guild of Seattle, Mary enjoys playing lute at weddings as well having had a fun time on the song Sir Galahad. Simply beautiful.
|
Robert Puff
Played soprano recorder on Sir Galahad, and noodled admirably in the introduction.
Ted Kamp
The terra firma of Sir Galahad, on upright bass. A very upright and respectable fellow who is often seen playing in a jazz combo at The Baltic Room on Capitol Hill.
Garey Shelton
Another Seattle institution, Garey took a walk on the weirder side (my fault) of fretless bass on Parrish Blue. I love how this turned out!
Holly is a powerhouse blues singer and just as powerful an idea woman. She is loud, I am quiet. We get along famously. She is the IndieMama.

Other Folks:
This man is a truly phenomenal musician's resource. His "FourFront" webpage is inspired. I took the FourFront marketing class from him and was very sorry to see it end, and if I haven't yet implemented more than 5% of the ideas and resources presented therein, it's my own damn problem.
A friend for the long haul. Webnerd and writer of high magnitude, borne out by the fact that he now gets paid per word to write video game reviews at Sierra Online. Rough life. He helped make my first and only music video as a school project and our friendship (barely) survived it. Most recently he converted a bunch of RealAudio files for me, but mostly he is a sounding board of what my problems are and how I might fix them if I'd just learn how to listen.
I owe Sean and Sonja some fine chocolate for helping my domain get off the ground by being my secondary ISP. (There is life outside of Omni!?).
Canadian-born authoress of some astounding poetry including _Spells for Clear Vision_, she was a staunch supporter from the very beginnings of my humble demo tape. Neile maintains the _Ectophile's Guide to Good Music_ as an exhaustive litmus test of highly listenable music based on the presumption that you have a natural affinity for Happy Rhodes' music.

Michael Peskura
One of my staunchest and earliest non-blood-related music fans, he faithfully taped MTV's 120 Minutes and provided me with a link to the outside world. One nifty gent.
Dana, the stylish one, was in the aforementioned video for "Fundevogel" (Grimm fairy tale adaptation) and made the supreme sacrifice of almost drowning in the icy depths around Montlake's arboretum, playing the evil Old Sanna. I think she actually even cut herself with the psycho carving knife prop, she got so into the part. Maybe someday I'll vindicate her suffering and actually show the video... nah, that was lifetimes ago and the footage of me is really embarrassing, even for my current webpage standards, and that's really saying something.
John McRandle
He's wacky. And good with electric-type paintbrushes. And, well, you just have to meet him I guess.
aka Cirocco, infamous web diary queen, made me look good for the album cover. She still gets a ton of email every day regarding how cool she is, even though she skipped town months ago and secretly came back.
Wil Shipley
(...and now a word from our sponsor...)
Another person who works at Omni Development. He is the janitor--er, the president and ruler for life. This is what he gets for making it his personal business whether or not I have the courage and stamina to succeed with this music thing: My thanks. Que es mas macho? school bus... or the Omni office?

and finally...
|
Yes, it's another Omni link, but not just another Omni person. He is the wheel to my tire and the main reason I still believe in quite a few things.

....and yet even more: Kelly Wright, KMTT The Mountain, Stacy Dee Emerson, Rod Underhill, the Ectophiles, Tim Miller, BryAnn Carlson, Tizzy Asher, Dave Elvin, Dave Brisker, Nathalie Robles, Paul Carlson, Eric Bergman, Kathy Yasi, all the Triad folk, Lenny Burnett, Vaughan Douglas, Elfi Mehan, Alvin Collins, Steve Ward, Alan Peterson, Taj Heniser, Phil Stewart, Muzak, Enzo, Josh Hanson, Keith Chambers, Alex Johnson...
...my family, and probably at least a dozen others.
