Styles palette

styles-palette
The styles palette occupies the bottom of the utility drawer (available from the View menu or the toolbar). With it you can set up styles for use in your document. Each style is identified by a style chit and a title.
To edit styles in the styles palette:
  • Click the style you would like to edit.
  • Use the Appearance inspector to set whichever styles you would like to apply.
  • The applied styles will appear in the Style Attributes inspector.
Above the divider are styles that apply to certain structural areas of your outline:
Below the divider are named styles that you can apply wherever you like. Named styles can only be created with OmniOutliner Pro, but can be viewed with either Standard or Pro.
To apply named styles to text in your outline:
  • Select the text you would like to style.
  • Drag the style chit from the styles palette and drop it onto the text, or just press the function key (F1, F2,...) associated with the named style you want. (Hold Command while dragging to apply the attributes of the named style without applying the named style itself.)
To create a named style, click the plus button beneath the styles palette.
To delete a named style, select it and then click the minus button beneath the styles palette.
