Licensing
To add a new license:
- Click the Add License... button.
- If you have a license key in an email message, copy and paste both the owner name and the license key into the appropriate fields. (If you copy and paste them, you don't have to waste time trying to shove the license key into your short-term memory so you can type it.)
- If you can't copy and paste the license, you will have to type it in. (Sorry about that!)
- Use the drop-down menu to select the type of license you would like to use. (Keep reading to learn about license types.)
- Click the Save button.
To import a license file:
- Use this technique to transfer a license file from one computer to another, when you have a valid license but don't recall the details. First, find the license file on the old computer. OmniOutliner license files are located in the folder Library/Application Support/Omni Group/Software Licenses, where Library is either at the top level of your system disk (for computer licenses), or in your home folder (for personal licenses). The file you are looking for has a name like omnioutliner-123456.omnilicense. Move this file to the new computer.
- On the new computer, open OmniOutliner's Licenses dialog and click the Add License... button.
- On the sheet that appears, click the Import License File... button.
- Locate the license file you want to import and select it.
- Click the Open button.
To buy a license:
- If you discover that you need a new license, click the Buy Licenses... button and you will find yourself magically transported to the Omni store on the web. Naturally, this only works if you have a live Internet connection.
