OmniOutliner menu
About OmniOutliner
This menu command brings up a panel that provides all kinds of interesting factoids about the version of the product you happen to be using. For example, it lists the names of the people who have done the various translations of the product from English to other languages.
Check for Updates...
Use this menu item to force OmniOutliner to check for an update Right This Second. OmniOutliner will contact the mothership (the OmniGroup's website) and ask it if there is a version of the software newer than the one you are using. If so, a dialog appears giving you details of the new release and inviting you to try it. If you already have the latest and greatest version of OmniOutliner, then you will see a dialog that confirms this.
By default, OmniOutliner checks for updates on its own once a week, or whenever you open the application, whichever is less frequent. With this menu item you can check for updates outside whatever regular schedule you might have established in the Update preference pane. (This whole

thing only works if you are connected to the Internet, by the way.)
Preferences...
Click this menu command and you will enter the world of OmniOutliner Preferences. Like any good Macintosh application, OmniOutliner gives you a great deal of control over how it behaves.
For information about how the individual preference panes work, please visit the Preferences section.
Licenses...
Select this menu item to see the Licenses dialog, with which you can review your OmniOutliner software licenses. For more information, check the Licensing section of the help.
Services
This menu item works like the Services menu on all other Macintosh applications: it contains a sub-menu that lists all of the installed Services you have on your computer.
For details about how one of these Services works, you should check the documentation of the applications that created the Service in the first place.
OmniOutliner Professional puts an

service in this menu as part of the clippings feature.
Hide OmniOutliner, Hide Others, Show All
These menu items work the same as they do on all Macintosh applications. You can use them to control which applications are visible on your screen.
Quit OmniOutliner
Use this menu item to make a graceful exit from OmniOutliner. If you have made changes to open documents since the last time you saved them, you will have the opportunity to save the changes before quitting.
