Notes
The display of notes can be controlled from the
View
menu's
Notes
submenu. The narrow column at the left of a new outline is the notes column; rows with notes will have a gray note icon
in this column.
To customize the style for all notes in a document:
If it is not already visible, show the Utility Drawer.
In the styles palette there is a structural style labeled
Note
; select it.
Use the Appearance inspector or drag in another named style to set the style you would like.
When notes are displayed inline
Each note will be in the outline, just below the row it belongs to. You can view several notes at once, and hide or show particular notes.
To add a new note:
Select the row to which you would like to add a note.
Click the gray note-with-plus icon in the row's notes column, or press Command-apostrophe.
To show or hide a note:
Select the row that the note belongs to.
Click the gray note-with-triangle icon in the row's notes column, or press Command-apostrophe.
When notes are displayed in a pane
The notes pane appears at the bottom of the document window and displays the note for the currently selected row. This lets you look at one note at a time.
To add a new note:
Select the row to which you would like to add a note.
Click in the note pane, or press Command-apostrophe.
