Outliner Import Preferences

The Outliner Import Preferences are used to set preferences on the importing of OmniOutliner documents.

Each item in the Style Groups list groups together a list of Level Styles. The items in the Level Styles list determine what style of graphic items on each level of an outline will be given when imported, and what style will be used for the lines connecting each item. The selected Style Group will be used the next time you import an OmniOutliner document.

To create a new graphic style for imported outlines, click the plus button below the Style Groups list. To delete an existing graphic style, select it in the Style Groups list and click the minus button below the list.

To add a level style to a graphic style, select the graphics style in the Style Groups list, then click the plus button below the Level Styles list. To remove a level style, select it in the Level Styles list and click the minus button below the list.

To modify a level styles, select the style in the Level Styles list and use the inspectors to modify the properties. A preview of the style will be show in the Preview window.

If you import an outline with more levels than you have styles for, the last style will be repeated as necessary.

The Layout Type can be set to one of two options. The hierarchical layout is generally best, but force-directed layout might work better for some outlines. The hierarchical layout direction can be set by clicking the corresponding layout direction button. More detailed layout properties can be set up in the Automatic Layout inspector.

The Reset button sets all options on this panel to their default values.
